Writing is a long-cherished hobby of mine. Storytelling is a passion of mine and something I love doing in my spare time. I have been writing for many years now, and even though many of my stories are fictional and entertaining in nature it has taught me a lot about the use of language in other types of text as well. I write in both Dutch and English, both for fictional work as for formal texts such as school documentation. My Bachelor thesis was written in English.

When I was six years old my stories of course didn’t comprise the most meaningful characters and background. Over the years however I have cherished the ability and opportunity to create fantastical worlds, characters and storylines. I took the opportunity to end both my high school and my college degree with projects revolving writing. My graduation essay for high school is named “How does a writer write a book?” and focuses on the stages a writer might go through when writing any type of story. My Bachelor thesis, which concluded my college education in 2015, is on the subject of international storytelling in video games and the influence it has on the emotional state of the player. It was written under the guidance of Dr. Jef Folkerts (Lecturer, Hanzehogeschool). I earned a 90% score on the report, a 91% score on the accompanying presentation and my thesis is currently nominated for the thesis award of my school.

Storywriting has brought me many things, including creativity and an imaginative mind. I am able to write well-constructed text for several kinds of ends in both Dutch and English. Turning my hobby into my job is my dream, writing in my spare time a passion!

If you are interested in any of the stories I’ve written, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I prefer not to publish them online.
